Brand Guide & Battle at the Bridge . American Bocce . 2018
brand design, print design, digital design
American Bocce approached me in 2018 with some general questions about building a brand. The company had just started expanding into other cities, and with their Chicago-based staff of three, they were worried about maintaining their voice and look in new cities.
I suggested they build a brand guidebook. The guide would not only provide design standards but would also give some direction on photography, email copy and social media posts. I wanted to make sure their team had the tools to be in control of how the brand was launched in new markets. As part of the brand guide project, I formalized their fonts and brand colors and updated their existing logos to be more usable across channels.

During this time, American Bocce also launched a new event called “Battle at the Bridge.” In addition to being a fundraiser for the Special Olympics, it was imagined as a series of bocce tournaments pitting local companies against each other. The first “battle” was with eight local breweries. I drew design inspiration from old band posters and created several posters, social images, postcards and banners for the event.
